Samsung Galaxy S5 Available Globally: First Day Sales Twice More than Galaxy S4
Samsung's new Galaxy smartphone along with Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fir went on sale in 125 countries across the world including US, Europe, Middle East, Latin America and most of the Asian market. The sales record for the Galaxy S5 is considerably higher than its predecessor.
Samsung confirmed the global availability of Galaxy S5 and the wearable devices in 125 countries on 11 of this month. As per the first day sales, the fifth generation Galaxy S smartphone beat the launch day sales of Galaxy S4.
Besides, in some countries sales of the Galaxy S5 doubled the amount of sales Galaxy S4 made on the first day of its release. Samsung said that it has received orders for millions of Galaxy S5 units and the market is not yet saturated, notes PhoneArena.
A few of the key differences between Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S4 is the fingerprint scanner, the heart rate monitor, high resolution rear camera, the IP67 certification for water and dust resistance and the powerful Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor, which replaces the Snapdragon 600 of the Galaxy S4.
As for the Galaxy S4's sales, the fourth generation Galaxy S smartphone sold 10 million units in less than one a month. Its predecessor, the Galaxy S3 reportedly took 50 days to accomplish the similar sales record. When it comes to the Galaxy S2, the handset took five months to reach 10 million sales, whereas the Galaxy S reached 10 million after seven months.
